Crockpot Pork with Mediterranean Seasonings

Now this is definitely NOT a Greek recipe, but since I don’t have access to the kind of meat used in gyros, this is my substitute.

1 fresh or recently frozen pork tenderloin (whatever size fits your crockpot).

My crockpot has a 4 quart capacity, so adjust seasonings accordingly.

½ large onion, cut into small wedges

3 – 5 cloves of fresh garlic, thinly sliced or minced

2 t. turmeric

1 t. dried oregano

Put pork in crockpot, pour a cup (or 2, depending on size of crockpot) of water around it.

Shake turmeric and oregano on top.

Arrange onions around and on top of it.

If frozen, cook on low all day, or 6 hours on high (more if you are using a lg tenderloin). If pork is fresh, cook on low for 6 – 8 hours.
